Florida Keys

We're hoping to get to the Florida Keys after a work conference in May. Fun to look at hotels and see what's down there. Pricey but it should be worth it. Love to adventure with Julie.

Beautiful Beyond Description

Julie has often served as God's hand of grace to me. She shows me what it is like to follow Jesus faithfully and love others persistently. I'm thankful for that. She has a beauty, inside and out (see picture :) that defies description.

I'm so glad I asked her to marry me 20 years ago in August, and that she said yes. I am officiating and she is coordinating a wedding tomorrow, and the couple is a delight with whom I believe God is delighted. I think God feels the same way about us. I'm certainly delighted with my life partner. Thank you Jesus.

Love

Love is still being committed to each other...

-when you can no longer see well enough to point out the rebel and emerging nose or ear hairs,
-when you can no longer hear well enough to receive the gentle jibes or subtle flirting from your live-love,
-when you can taste that the dish they always make tastes different because they forgot the sugar or added it twice, and you don't say anything about it,
-when trembling you touch the leathery wrinkles make-up won't fix and it feels beautiful because of whose wrinkles they are
-when you smell the cologne or perfume they use and get excited because you know you have a hot date down the hall playing dominoes with another couple after supper, and a night together with no interruptions afterwards.

What Is Good

Proverbs 18.22 He who finds a wife finds what it good and receives favor from the LORD (NIV) Find a good spouse, you find a good life--and even more: the favor of God!

I'm very thankful for Julie today. She is a Proverbs 31 woman and is grace to me. She's back at work today after throwing up literally all night with no sleep yesterday.

I'm also thankful for Jesus today. God made him who had not sin to be sin for me, so that in him, I might become the righteousness of God 2 Cor 5.21 NIV. Now that is a miracle--I feel like I am sin, but God is giving me Jesus' identity. Ridiculous hilarious grace to me.
